Elva's Perfect Day

The sun arose over Lake Como and so did Steve....to take an early hike up a steep hill to a picturesque church (pictures tomorrow, promise) all before meeting "the gang" for breakfast where he tried his FIRST double espresso... and he actually liked it (with lots of sugar)!  It was a wonderful start to a promisingly wonderful day!

After a time for devotions, Gary drove Peggy and Steve to a town called Collona at about 11 am to start the 6 or 7 mile Greenway walk that would end at our lodging--they got home at 2:30!  He took a dip in the lake while Elva and Peggy went for a late lunch (yummy pizza) close-by.

Meanwhile, Elva had her "perfect day".  This was not because it was the first day that her feet were not sore and killing her by mid-afternoon (although this was a perk!); it was because she got to do her favorite thing (not shopping for you that are trying to guess!). She got to sit out on the balcony or lake terrace on a perfectly temperature and sunny day to read a mindless novel.  This would be while looking at the gorgeous scenery, hearing the soft splash of waves, viewing the lake traffic (even a hydrofoil)

with her feet comfortably propped up. What could be better???!!  You will have to agree when you see Steve and Elva relaxing on their balcony overlooking Lake Como and Bellagio (behind Steve)!  No July 4th fireworks but a super relaxing day!

It ended with a wonderful dinner on the lake patio where we enjoyed 4 gourmet courses centered around zucchini and squash  The sun set over the lake, reddening the mountains and we again had to remind ourselves that we were not dreaming up this wonderful place!

And because it was Elva's perfect day, it was also Steve's perfect day.  :)
